Ultra Sensitive Instruments for Particle Detection
-The recent development and applications-
In the experiments using accelerators for elementary particle or nuclear physics, a large detector system with a size of 10 m is constructed to observe reactions happened in an extremely small scale.
The system is, in a sense, a complex of millions of sensors and the success of the project using the system depends absolutely on the performance of the sensors.
In the seminar, basics to up-to-date technologies of the sensors used will be presented along with their applications to the field other than fundamental science.
